Julians Cave Game

This game was good and fun but i was too slow. I would maybe make the first round a little easier so people like me can play it. But other then that it was fun and a good game

ReplyDeleteOK....SO.....UHH..... i had NO clue how to play this game because it had no instructions really. so i didnt know how to "wipe the white nose" other than that the games was good!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of difficult, but maybe it's supposed to be like that. All mechanics work but I didn't know what to do at first.
ReplyDeleteso after I "wipped" all the WNS away you have a message box that is getting triggered too many times. also it took me several tries to get all the WNS off the bat before it woke up. This is a good idea however for the tutorial level the player should get a lot more time, with message boxes letting them know why they have to restart. There seems to be a hidden level inbetween 1 and 2 that i briefly see and then it disapears. I feel like the hand would be better moved with the mouse rather than the arrow keys. Ask mason how to do this. strong concept, keep up the good work.

I learned that WNS causes bats to wake up during hibernation and that the bats freeze. I didn't catch a third fact but that's probably because I'm blind.
ReplyDeleteThe change in difficulty was really good and your tutorial screen was really helpful.
One improvement that could be made might be adding a clock or timer on the screen so you can see how much time you have to get the fungus off the bat.

1. This game was an 8/10 because it was pretty fun. I think the reason for this was the amount of time given was enough to ALMOST clean off the bat but not quite so you wanted to keep playing.
ReplyDelete2. In terms of education the game was probably a 6.5 ish because facts only appeared after you lost. Also the same facts didn't appear every time so a full understanding is banking on the fact that people will play the game many many times.
3. On a 10 point scale for how well developed this game was a 7. The sounds were entertaining but I thought the facts were presented in a very boring way (info box) and that could have been more engaging. Nice splash screen though.
4. I think if I could change one thing it would be the way the facts are presented. It also doesn't tell you how to get to the info screen (which we all know how to do - hopefully - but someone like Mrs. Carver doesn't).
I would give this game a 6/10 in terms of enjoyment. It was really short, but it does get progressively harder.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of education, I would give this a 6/10 as well. I learned that white nose syndrome is a big problem for bats and that they can freeze to death if it's not cured in time.
For development, I give this an 7/10. The game is short and could use more levels. The sprites are well-developed, and the background music fits the game. I could not find any action sounds however except for when you beat a level and press enter.
My suggestion is that you find a way to make the game longer, maybe have some extra minigames or something, because it's very short. I would also recommend adding more action sounds if you can find a way to. From what I saw, however, it seems like it would be difficult to add more levels without making it nearly impossible, but I'm sure you can pull it off.

I give this game a 9/10 because its too hard for me and I get frustrated very easily.

The game was good and the development is good. I also liked the Batman music in the background. (10)
The only thing I would fix would maybe be the facts and when they are presented.
Other than that good game!
The games fun level is probably a 6. If there were more levels that were maybe a little more complected than reflexes it would be more enjoyable, but that being said the game got very challenging and I quite liked it. On education the score is going to be a 5. I say this because most of the information is not displayed in game which is very important in a simple game. Also the information was kind of hidden. The game is well developed. I would say about an 8. because the sounds are smooth the sprites look good and the interactions are well done. My one suggestion is to either make it so the sounds don't come as often or loudly because it gave me a head ache, or to make their be more levels with possible variations.
