Rhiannon_MossMazeEscape

Have you ever wondered about the life of a tardigrade? How do they move and how do they find their homes in that giant maze
of moss? What will you do when you are transported into the game MOSS MAZE ESCAPE with evil villans like FACTORY FUMES and MOSS AWAY

  2. Hi Rhiannon...
    1. I think this sort of fit the research we did... I don't really understand how the tardigrade is suddenly immune to the Moss Away after it eats the blue thing... I understand it makes the game more interesting but it just doesn't make sense to me.
    2. I liked how the Moss Away followed you but couldn't get through the blue squares.
    3. I actually have a couple critiques. One is that there are WAY too many food objects and just makes the game super tedious to try to complete. The game would be less boring if there was at least a Score caption telling the player how many food objects they have picked up, but an easier and better solution would simply be LESS FOOD!!! Also, sometimes the tardigrade gets stuck on a maze block and the only way it can move to get out of the block is up. Another problem is that the info screen is 100% blank so you really just have to guess on how to play the game. Maybe make the Moss Away move faster... other than that it was fun!

    1. I will add the score counter up top to symbolize how many food bits are left but, I would like to say that those first two levels were tutorials and therefore looked the same but later on the maze will end up looking different meaning a different amount of food for different levels. Again my info screen has been filled in so can now know how to play and I will consider making the MOSS AWAY move faster but it is unlikely. Maybe I will add another faster enemy.

  3. This game is a little tedious, if there were less of the dots it might be better. When the power-up was given there was no indication of when it was over. Also sometimes the character got stuck. other than that it was quite fun and smooth as well as tying into the research.

    1. Good point on the power-up signal. I will probably add that but most likely later in the game. And yes I know the character gets stuck I am fixing it.

  4. Missing an info screen, I think your game is off to a great start, however if you made your tardigrade sprite a little larger it would be able to eat the dots easier without being able to squeeze past them. Great game info as I was playing, however include some science when you let me know that I ate some moss away, why is that bad. Some instructions on the first level would improve this game greatly.

  5. There is now an info screen and thank you I like how my game is progressing. The tardigrades actual sprite will probably end up getting bigger anyway. Also I will consider the science but the truth is I really just wanted the deaths to be more interesting than YOU DIED!

    1. Inatye I am sorry to say but this game already has 2 tutorials and 7 levels and there are already 2 helps and 2 villains. This makes the game already meet all requirements though if I have time I will CONSIDER trying to program and add another enemy for you to fight.

  7. Fun game!

The sprite for the character that you control is too large and often gets caught on the walls while collecting the coin objects. The game info screen is GREAT! I learned the issues facing air pollution and how moss/lichen is a great indicator in a fun way!
All I can suggest is that you change the object size of the controllable character.

    Great job!

    1. The sprite is actually not to big though it does get caught along the walls. I will fix this if I can. Thank you on the info screen though because that took me 1/2 an hour to write and edit and add stuff to.

  8. great but needs work on the messages all of them are displaying for me so maybe it can be fixed. but it is strangely addictive i have no idea what you should add but it could have fine tuned physics like the fact that the tardigrade is going through the walls a bit making me not able to move up, to the sides, and so forth

  9. i learned that tardigrades eat moss and thats all they eat. u had alot of info witch was helpful.it was difficult cause theirs a lot of those dots one the first level u should make something chase the tardigrade to make a little challenging the second level was good it was hard. i think if u put less dots it would be better. -baelie

  10. i learned that air pollution can be produced by many things, tardigrades eat the leafy bits of moss gaining in suletion from changing item and they die from fumes

  11. This game was a 6 in fun level, it was a little slow and I didn't know really what to do because there is a lot in the info screen.
This game was an 8 in educational level, there were clear facts that were stated and shown in gameplay.
It was perfectly developed, although to make it more like pacman the movement could be changed so you can only turn on corners I don't really know. Maybe instead of jump to position you could have move fixed.
